We all know what wifi is and how essential it could be in life. But, here at Ardsley Middle School the wifi is finicky. Ardsley wifi requires the user to have an account to the homepage which in some cases, people don´t have. As Ardsley Middle School students, we have busy days and nights so, when want to do something last minute on our phones we can't, due to the lack of connection and the turtle-like wifi. According to the Detroit News, President Barack Obama said last fall, “Right now, fewer than 40 percent of public schools have high-speed Internet in their classrooms — less than half. That's not good, since we invented the Internet … It means that in most American schools, teachers cannot use the cutting-edge software and programs that are available today. They literally don’t have the bandwidth." people might agree this is less that ideal, but if the former president agrees, this is a pressing problem.
Similarly, when students are required to use their phones for projects, the faulty wifi gives them so much unnecessary aggravation. Speaking of aggravation, students also may need to call or shoot a text to a parent after school but yet again, due to the poor wifi, parents might never receive the messages or calls. Parents sometimes get furious when they don't hear from their kid. Do you think it's right for a child not to be able to get in touch with a parent?
Rather than wasting money on electronic billboards, the board of education should ands needs to spend it on more useful things, such as better wifi. The better the wifi, the happier the kids.
